Gold Medal and King Arthur are great too. And yes, vanilla extract is what I use when I don’t have the mix.

Hi Ashley,

My husband and I just bought your mix and it was fabulous!! We’d love to make the mix ourselves, but don’t have Shepherds Flour near us, is there another flour you would recommend? Additionally, will good vanilla extract give the same flavor as the ground vanilla bean? Thank you!
