I’m amazed that you were able to take any photos and blog with 3 kids in tow. I have 2 and I couldn’t have posted anything at all.
I hope there are rstos in the next poats… We are going to PDX this weekend.

My current favorites in Seattle are Aster Coffee Lounge, Herkimer, Victrola and Stumptown (pdx based!). But my current favorites are in PDX. And we still have more than a handful of other shops down there to write about as well. -gabe

Let’s say I’m taking my wife for away from Bellingham for the weekend. What coffee shops in Seattle would you put in comparison to Heart, Barista and Coava? Great post. I always love posts that include the family.

I’m so impressed that you dragged the kids along on this trip. I’ve had a hard time incorporating them into many of our food excursions – mostly because I have no patience. Seriously. None.
Also? I’m the only one in my house that drinks coffee. How sad is that?

The hubs and I are dying to come out to Portland… it’s a highly overdue trip. I’ve read so much about the coffee scene out there and, having had some good coffee out in San Fran, I can only imagine what’s being produced in Portland. Thanks for sharing this spot with us!

Coffee culture is something that is slowly getting in the Netherlands as well, but I don’t think it will get to the proportions of the US. We’re more the ‘drink coffee at home’ kind of people I guess… 🙂 I love your shots and it looks like a great place to go. I wish I had known about them when we went to Portland!

i do hope you try coffeehouse northwest on west burnside next time you are there! it was our neighborhood favorite when we lived on that side of the river. and if you do go, it may not be coffee, but their hot chocolate is hands down one of the finest cups of hot chocolate i’ve ever experienced.

we do love heart, and an old friend is a barista at coava- maybe he’ll be in your pictures!

I live in Portland and I’ve never been to Heart! I’ve passed by it before and thought it looked cute, but never gone in. After this post I’m definitely changing that 🙂
